This chocolate banana bread is so delicious and rich, it’s like eating a chocolate cake!
Okay so I’ve already expressed my love of banana bread when I shared my all-time favorite recipe here. It’s just something that I love to quickly whip up and I feel a little less guilty enjoying. It’s relatively healthy, right? 😉
But recently I had a few overripe bananas sitting on my counter and I really wanted to try out a new-to-me recipe. I took to Pinterest and discovered this recipe by Chocolate Covered Katie.
I knew right away that chocolate banana bread was something I just had to try. The only modification I made to Katie’s recipe was swapping in my trusty Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 Flour. Her recipe was super easy to follow. I opted to use milk in mine instead of oil for a slightly lighter take and the texture was perfect.
Why I Love This Chocolate Banana Bread…
- It’s a fun take on a classic banana bread recipe and a slightly healthier way to enjoy a chocolatey dessert!
- The chocolate chips on top are totally optional but are a fun finishing touch.
- It comes together very quickly and is super straightforward and simple.
How To Make…
You’ll start by whisking your wet ingredients (mashed bananas, vanilla extract, white vinegar, maple syrup, milk) together with your sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until it’s all combined. Then you really just pour it into your greased pan, sprinkle your chocolate chips on top, and bake on 350ºF for about 45 minutes.
This chocolate banana bread really didn’t last long in our home, we just kept going back for seconds.. and thirds.. 😉 I really can’t think of a better way to make use of any overripe bananas you have sitting around in your kitchen!
